IPL HAIR REMOVAL

IPL hair removal is a safe, virtually painless method of removing unwanted hair. It works by focusing a laser beam at the base of the hair follicle, halting hair growth. Laser hair removal is different to the Intense Pulsed Light system (IPL) which uses less power, diffused light waves. IPL hair removal can be used on any part of the body, including the most common problem areas: face, bikini area, legs, and underarms. Many professionals and celebrities choose laser hair removal as it is considered the highest quality, most safe and effective way to remove unwanted hair from visible areas.

LASER BEAM OR INTENSE PULSED LIGHT (IPL)

Lasers are focused beams, whereas IPL uses interspersed flashes. While one visit will result in a lot of hair removal, it takes about 5 visits each one month apart to kill as much as 70% of the hair. Hair grows in cycles so you want to make sure you get as much of it as possible.

WHO IS IT FOR?

It’s not just women who get laser hair removal facts, a growing number of men are considering getting laser hair removal, especially males who have dense and dark thick shafts of hair on their back.
The amount of laser skin treatments has nearly doubled since 2000 and the percentage of men getting work done is increasing by leaps and bounds.

HOW DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL WORK?

A concentrated beam of light is aimed at hair. The light is absorbed by the pigment, which damages the follicle enough to retard future growth. IPL can remove hair for anywhere from several months to years, as the results differ widely from person to person.

PERMANENT HAIR REDUCTION

IPL delivers permanent hair reduction to remove unwanted and unsightly hair from the face and body. A number of sessions may be required to achieve the desired outcome, but IPL guarantees complete reduction, as illustrated below.

THREAD VEIN REMOVAL

IPL & LASER treatments target imperfections in the skin from sun damage, acne to pigmentation and thread veins. Laser and IPL are used to promote collagen production and aid hydration giving a smoother glowing fresher complexion.
Thread veins, spider veins, and broken veins are a very common problem for a lot of people. These veins have the appearance of small fine flat red veins or thicker purplish veins on the surface of the leg or face.
Thread veins are small blood vessels that can, over-time, develop into larger blood vessels if not treated and maintained. Leg thread veins can be removed quickly and easily leaving your legs smoother and even-toned.

ADVANCED WRINKLE TREATMENT

Wrinkles are creases in the skin that appear as we get older. They are an inevitable part of the aging process. As we become older our skin gets thinner, drier and less elastic. Our skin’s ability to protect itself from damage is also decreased and eventually wrinkles and furrows develop.
The causes of wrinkles include:
Genetic factors
Regular exposure to UV light
Smoking
Repeatedly squinting or frowning
Want to straighten out those unwanted frown lines or have fuller more plump lips?
Advanced WRINKLE TREATMENT is the one for you!

delivers constant, gradual energy to the skin, causing heat to build up where the skin and fat layer come together. The increasing heat modifies the collagen bundles deep inside the skin, causing them to contract and stimulating the growth of new collagen over time. This results in firmer, tighter skin.
First, a protective gel is applied to the face. You may feel a deep warming sensation when the doctor touches the area being treated with the TLC Fusiomed handpiece. No anesthetic is used, so you will act as a guide to describe the depth of the sensation as the doctor moves the handpiece across your face.

ACNE TREATMENT

Acne result from a change in the way in which kerATIN IS LAID DOWN IN THE HAIR FOLLICLE, WITH TEH KERATIN, BECOMING DENSER and blocking the secretion of sebum. this produces a sterile inflammatory response and a resultant plugging of the follicle causing a whitehead (closed comedones)
acne is also caused by the body’s increased production of the hormone androgen ( produced by both men and women ), which stimulates the sebaceous glands to produces more oil. the increased production of oil causes the pore to become blocked so that the oil cannot come up to the skin’s surface.

TREATING ACNE:

Treating acne with IPL is one of the safest methods of getting rid of unsightly red spots and pimples.
IPL laser is suitable for hormonal breakouts, mild to moderate acne and is especially good for patients not wanting conventional systemic treatments like the oral contraceptive pill or long-term antibiotics. It is not suitable for extremely severe cystic acne which would require Roaccutane or extensive acne involving the back or chest where systemic treatments would be more suitable. You will have a skin consultation with the doctor prior to any treatment being decided on and all treatment options can be discussed at this time.

The number OF SESSIONS AND TREATMENT INTERVALS:

one session every 3 weeks is recommended. More session may be required. Maintenance session may be required every 6 weeks to three months. Results must be enhanced and maintained with specialized skin care products which are available for sale at the clinic.

PATIENT EXPECTATIONS:

There are no side effects with IPL treatment of acne lesions. There is minimal to no discomfort. There is a big improvement in the appearance of the skin after laser treatment but the patient must be aware that the natural history of acne might be to worsen in a patient so if the skin does deteriorate other treatment options may need to be discussed either during or after IPL treatment.
